Care for the pets that do not need a dog sitter
Holiday pet care often involves more than dogs and cats. If you have rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, chickens, fish, reptiles or a mixed household, tell me what the normal routine involves and I can confirm whether I can safely provide it.
Aquarium care
Aquarium visits can include feeding, checking that equipment appears to be running normally and straightforward cleaning tasks that have been agreed in advance. If the aquarium needs specialist water chemistry, marine-system work or technical maintenance, a specialist aquarist is the better option.
Rabbits and small mammals
Visits can cover food, water, basic enclosure care, welfare checks and companionship according to the routine you provide.
Birds, poultry and reptiles
Routine feeding, water, basic enclosure checks and simple agreed care can be considered. Specialist handling, dangerous species or procedures outside my experience are not offered.
Combine everything into one visit
For mixed households, one visit can often cover cats, small pets, fish, plants and post together. This can be simpler than arranging separate carers for each part of the home.
Common questions
Do you feed fish while owners are away?
Yes. Feeding can be provided according to your normal routine and quantities.
Can you clean the aquarium?
Basic pre-agreed cleaning can be included. Specialist maintenance, water chemistry work or complex marine-system servicing is not offered.
Can you care for chickens?
Routine poultry feeding, water and simple checks can be discussed based on the setup and visit requirements.
What if I have several different pets?
Multi-pet households are welcome where the routines are suitable. Send a list of the animals and what each one needs.
